Mastery test

Demonstrate mastery of extraction, analytical comparison, and the acceptance contract.

Approximate result with tolerance

Expected topology may be exact; FE quantities are accepted only within the declared tolerance.

Module check

Show that you can do it without hints

You need at least 80% and every critical check correct. Each new attempt uses a different six-question variant. Retained mastery is checked later.

6 checks

Competency

Validate results against beam theory.

Pass criterion

Deflection error <5%, dispersion <1%, interior S,X error <10%, and equilibrium error <0.5%.

1.What is the difference between visualizing and validating a result? Critical

Displaying shows a field; validating requires reference, error, and tolerance. There is no difference; PLNSOL is enough to pass the model. Validating only requires capturing an image of the contour.

2.Enter the maximum deflection-error threshold accepted by the module, as a percentage. Critical

Numeric answer %

3.Why compare interior S,X instead of the maximum stress at the fixed support? Critical

Because singularities should not govern the global conclusion. Because POST1 cannot read stresses at the fixed support. Because S,X always coincides with von Mises.

4.Enter the maximum dispersion threshold of the tip face, in percentage.

5.Enter the maximum interior S,X stress-error threshold, as a percentage. Critical

Numeric answer %

6.M07 checks balance again. What maximum tolerance does the module accept? Critical

0.5% in force and moment. 5% only for deflection. 10% in any magnitude.

7.In the M07 expansion, POST26 represents UY versus TIME on a static ramp. What does TIME mean here?

Physical time of transient integration. Normalized load factor, not physical time. Active node identifier.

8.A stress plot looks reasonable, but equilibrium fails. Which verdict applies? Retrieval M06

Not validated; visual inspection cannot compensate for a failed balance. Validated by physical appearance.

9.Peak stress lies at a singularity. Which strategy improves validation? Retrieval M04

Define a comparable interior probe and study its convergence. Always use the global maximum regardless of location.

Confidence prediction Before scoring, what percentage of this module check do you expect to have correct? This prediction does not affect your score. It is used to compare confidence with actual performance.

Three short reviews are scheduled around days 1, 7, and 21. If you return late, the next gap starts from the review you actually completed.

Peak stress at an ideal clamp diverges with refinement. What should be compared with theory? New scenario

A defined interior probe and its convergence trend. The global maximum from each mesh regardless of location.

PLNSOL and PLESOL differ near a discontinuity. What must be documented? New scenario

Only the plot with the lower value.Whether results are averaged and where they are extracted.

A stress component has the opposite sign to expectation. Which state do you inspect? New scenario

Confidence prediction Before scoring, what percentage do you expect to have retained correctly? This prediction does not affect your score. It is used to compare confidence with actual performance.

Pass with 75% and every selected critical check correct.

What you just achieved

After you pass, M07 will be complete and M08 will become the next recommended module.
